A Pirates of the Caribbean is a movie that's been in the minds of generations and has spurred fantasies for centuries. Some might assume that all the best parts of this cinematic adventure were already seen when they watched it, but there is still one important image from Pirates of the Caribbean left to see. No matter if one has watched the movie or not, the image of the mermaids on the second floor is very important to this film. They are recognizable as royalty but they are also deadly creatures. But what use are they in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise? The mermaids on the ship were, like many other things in this film, stolen for some special use or some hidden meaning. When Jack Sparrow finds out that his beloved first mate Barbossa is dead on his ship, he finds out that Barbossa stole his compass and there's something more valuable on that ship than all of Jack's treasures combined, "The Heart of Davy Jones". The fact that the mermaids are important to the movie is normal. They are on the front of the ship. They hold power over Jack Sparrow's heart and soul, but things like this don't happen for no reason. The mermaids probably mean something more than what they appear, more than how they act, and most certainly more than what they represent in this film. The way these creatures are fashioned is intriguing since they have a human head on a fish tail. Mermaids have always been portrayed with human heads and two scaly fish tails that have no feet or hands. Mermaids have always had beautiful voices that can seduce men to forget their lives or even die for them. But in this film, mermaids aren't the only thing to have two different things mixed together. There is also a giant octopus monster called "The Kraken". However, one wouldn't consider the kraken and the mermaids in the same category because they don't look alike and they don't act alike. The reason is that they don't have anything in common but their title which suggests that they are two creatures with different purposes. There are, however, other similarities that seem to center the two monsters. First, the Kraken is a huge creature with no head or face. Second, it is larger than any ship in the movie. Lastly, because it has no mouth or mouth-like organ for breathing air, it needs to hold its breath while attacking ships. The mermaids are also quite large because they are supposed to be able to pass through portholes without being noticed because their heads are small enough to fit through them. cfa1e77820
